Personnel who are assigned to the area must stand well clear of any moving vehicles and be in full view of the driver at all times. WWP drivers must not assist in any duties other than those they are train to carry out.

• Customers are advised to carry out risk assessments regarding the safe handling of wheelie bins provided for waste paper or packaging. A full wheelie bin of paper will weigh up to 250 Kg’s.

• WWP drivers are forbidden to carry bins up or down stairs and we recommend that your staff adopt the same safe working practice.

• Empty wheelie bins are normally provided for customers to fill at their own convenience, either with waste paper for recycling, packaging or confidential documents for security destruction. When the bins are full please place them at a suitable collection point where our collection vehicle has access.

• Please advise WWP of any access requirements i.e. HGV access only allowed in certain areas or any time restrictions on collections.

• Please ensure the bins are only used for their intended purpose which is the storage of waste paper, packaging or secure waste for destruction. No sharp objects should be put into bins because they may cause a hazard to anyone processing the contents.

• WWP drivers have been instructed to obey customers’ site safety rules at all times. Please inform the driver of any special instructions or call the WWP office on 01531 670663. Please provide any written instructions available.
